Ontario Brain Institute to Present NeuroFL at Flower AI Summit 2026
2 avril 2026
The Ontario Brain Institute (OBI) will take the stage at the Flower AI Summit 2026, taking place April 15–16 in London, UK. The summit brings together builders, researchers, and organizational leaders working at the forefront of open-source federated and agentic AI.
OBI President and COO Bryce Pickard and Shirin Taghian, Cloud Machine Learning Engineer on OBI's Informatics team, will represent OBI at the event, sharing how the Centre for Analytics (CfA) is applying federated learning, AI, and secure data analytics to drive discoveries that protect patient privacy and accelerate brain health breakthroughs.
Central to their presentation is NeuroFL, OBI's new federated learning platform that enables researchers to learn from sensitive health data without compromising patient privacy or centralizing sensitive information. NeuroFL makes this approach practical and scalable across the diverse institutional partners that make up OBI's research networks, bridging academia, healthcare, and industry as team science.
Their session will address:
- How federated learning is enabling multi-institutional brain research without centralizing data
- The design and deployment of NeuroFL in real-world research settings
- Lessons learned from scaling federated systems across diverse partners
OBI's presence in this summit reflects the growing global influence of Ontario-grown brain research and Canada's role in shaping AI-driven health innovation.
