NerView Surgical, OBI NERVE 2025 Portfolio Company, Wins $100,000 at FACIT's Falcons' Fortunes

NerView Surgical, a 2025 recipient of the Ontario Brain Institute's NERVE (Neurotechnology Entrepreneurship and Readiness through Venture Education) award, has won the $100,000 Ernsting Entrepreneurship Award at FACIT's 2026 Falcons' Fortunes pitch competition, one of Ontario's premier annual events for cancer innovators.

NerView Surgical is an Ontario medical device startup developing NerveSense™, a handheld imaging tool that enables surgeons to visualize peripheral nerves in real time during open cancer surgeries. By giving surgeons clearer, objective visual feedback in the surgical field, the technology aims to reduce the risk of accidental nerve damage, a leading cause of post-operative complications that can affect voice, swallowing, facial movement, and quality of life.

Founder and CEO Mann Parikh began developing the nerve visualization technology as an undergraduate at McMaster University, where he studied Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization, before launching NerView Surgical in August 2023. "We want patients to have peace of mind when they're going into a surgery," says Parikh. "We're trying to bring the risk of nerve damage as close to zero as possible by supporting surgeons with an effective, streamlined tool to visualize nerves."

Parikh was one of six Ontario entrepreneurs selected to pitch to an expert panel of judges at this year's sold-out Falcons' Fortunes event, held in Toronto in April. As the winning pitch, he will receive the $100,000 Ernsting Entrepreneurship Award along with access to FACIT's continuum of funds and support to continue advancing his innovation.
