SPEAKERS:
- Ngozi Iroanyah, PhD Candidate, is the Director, Health Equity and Access, at the Alzheimer Society of Ontario. Working in the EDI field as a strategist, policy analyst, and community engagement practitioner, Ngozi implements an intersectional lens as the foundation of her practice work to support meaningful equity work that will bring out equality.
- Dr. Laura Middleton is an Associate Professor & the Schlegel Research Chair in Dementia and Active Living at the University of Waterloo and Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging. With a focus on the role of physical activity and complementary lifestyle strategies, Laura’s research aims to identify strategies to promote well-being and independence of those living with, or at risk for, dementia.
- Dr. Dominik Nowak is President of the Ontario Medical Association, a family doctor at Women's College Hospital, and a faculty member in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. Dominik is also a recipient of the College of Family Physicians of Canada Award of Excellence for his leadership in Canadian healthcare.
Moderator: Farah Qaiser, a genomics researcher and science communicator, as well as co-author of the 2024 a children’s picture book, Khadija and the Elephant Toothpaste Experiment. Farah was recently recognized for her contributions towards fostering a science culture in Canada through a King Charles III Coronation Medal.
