Ron Gonzalez - Avertus

Avertus has built a portable headset for brain wave (EEG) recording and seizure monitoring. As the only technology of its kind that can be worn day and night to provide continuous data, it aims to improve the treatment of epilepsy and provide peace of mind. The ONtrepreneurs program helped Ron and Avertus develop a business plan, conduct market research, and build a working prototype of the headset.

Avertus now has a research prototype with CSA medical device electrical safety approval, as well as Health Canada approval of a clinical trial in seizure patients and permission to sell the device for research purposes.

Ali Morbi - Gaittronics

Gaittronics is an innovative rehabilitation robotics company that developed Solowalk, a robot that helps patients walk independently.  The ONtrepreneurs program helped Ali and Gaittronics improve their prototype design and develop a patent strategy.

GaitTronics launched a production model with Health Canada approvals. It sold its first unit to the research group and recently completed a pilot study with patients.
